Getting a hug may seem a simple thing. But for many children that hug is out of reach. Hugs Across America, a national charity, provides teddy bears to children who need them during their most difficult times. Recipients of our teddy bears include victims of abuse, survivors of natural disasters and sick children.

The Washington chapter of Hugs Across America has donated hundreds of teddy bears to Georgetown University Hospital, to the DC Metro Police Homicide Response Unit and other groups that act as advocates for children.

You can help other children in the area get the teddy bears they need by making a PayPal donation on this site. You can also help by planning a teddy bear stuffing and tagging party with a group of friends. The teddy bears you donate will provide “hugs” to children who need them.
